Part-time (Days/Evenings)
We are currently looking to add to our energetic activity team with some late afternoon into evening positions to provide programs, activities, and companionship for our residents. Assist our Activity Coordinator with the calendar of activities, encourage resident participation, and attend in-service training and staff meetings.


Full and Part-time (Evenings, Nights, and Float Pool)
The primary purpose of this position is to render professional and compassionate nursing care to the residents. As well as supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations to provide the highest degree of quality care.

LPN or RN License is required. One to three years in Long term care is preferred.


Full and Part-time (Days, Evenings, Nights, and Float Pool)
The primary purpose of this position is to provide residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.

A CNA certificate and successful completion of the state competency exam and a CPR certificate is required. One to two years’ experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include performing a variety of tasks, setting and/or resetting tables, stocking supplies, greeting and serving residents, cleaning tables and counters in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established food service policies and procedures.


Full and Part-time
Responsibilities include hands-on cooking applications and good sanitation practices. Desired qualifications include a proven record of team work, love of food, high school diploma and a positive work approach in a professional environment.

Prior cooking experience is preferred.


Full and Part-time
Responsibilities include assisting the culinary team with a variety of tasks. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills are a must.


The Chef Apprentice Program is a collaborative project between Hearthstone Communities and McHenry County College (MCC). This is a two-year course involving classroom work at McHenry County College and a practicum of hands-on experience at Hearthstone Communities in its Food Services Department. Two students will be selected each year from the Culinary Class at MCC. Tuition will be shared between the student and Hearthstone, with the requirement that the students will satisfy the obligation of working at Hearthstone in its Food Services Department during their education and for a designated period of time following graduation. The students will work under the supervision of Chef Dimitri and Chef Andres and experience all aspects of food preparation and service delivery throughout our continuum of care.
